Well it’s been 6 years since one of my more unintentionally controversial drawings and I just wanted to say:
I should have known better than to look in the notes and yet I did and the amount of people confidently stating that gay Muslims don’t exist in majority Muslim countries is astounding.
Hi, hello. I am from a majority Muslim country. Gay Muslims definitely exist here. Is prosecution a thing to worry about? Yep! Sure is! Kind of like how LGBTQ+ people could be prosecuted and discriminated against in majority Christian countries too until very recently (and it’s not like that’s entirely gone away either…)
Gay people have existed everywhere and throughout history. They can also have their faiths. These things are not incompatible.
Please, if you don’t come from a certain country or have a specific faith, let’s not generalise, hm?
